Tiffany Style: A Beginner Class for Professional Copper Foil Techniques


5 Weeks/ $150.00 plus supplies

This introductory class is a wonderful way to experience the art of Stained Glass! During this five week course everyone will make a beautiful Tiffany style window panel. Learn how to choose a pattern, pick proper glass, cut glass, foil, solder and finish an exceptional hand crafted art glass panel. Use our open workshop to get help free of
charge, and make our studio your studio!

Introduction to Fusing Glass (6 weeks, $95)
Class project: Three fired and fused pieces

If you have ever wanted to try your hand at fused glass in a kiln, but didn't want the big investment...then this is your class!
Use our kiln to learn the basic skills and complete at least three projects to give as gifts or keep for yourself!  During this class you'll experience how to:

Cut glass safely

Pick the proper glasses
Set up the kiln
Fire and fuse
Finish and Enjoy!
6 weeks of class ($95.00)
Class size limited to eight (8) people per class/ minimum of four students
Included in class:
Professional Quality Instruction
Use of studio tools, tables, grinders and kilns (where applicable)
Classes meet one time per week and students are encouraged to come in and use the studio, tables, tools, grinders and kilns in-between classes if needed. Open workshop is limited to two hours per week, per class, per student.

Maximum 8 students, minimum 4.

 

Lead Came: A Beginner Class for Professional Leaded Glass Techniques

The course is 8 weeks.

Class fee is $200.00 plus supplies.

This comprehensive 8 week class is dedicated to the fine art of working with lead came. Learn the differences between lead profiles and sizes, soldering techniques, mitering, English cutting and more!

This class will give you the professional instruction and opportunity to improve of all your basic techniques including glass cutting and understanding glass styles and manufacturers. We will complete several projects throughout the course that include several small gift items, a bent-panel leaded glass lampshade, a leaded, beveled glass window panel and a review of the most important soldering techniques for copper foil. This class is a "must have" for anyone who wants their artwork to look as professional as possible!

Warm Glass: A Beginner Class for Professional Fusing Techniques”

The course is 5 weeks.

Class fee is $150.00 plus supplies.

Students will learn to create their own mirror pattern, work with mirrored glass, and learn about double glazing techniques. The second project is a wonderful stained glass marblescope complete with decorative soldering. Both of these projects are truly one of a kind because the students have plenty of artistic discretion.

Advanced Stained Glass

The course is 5 weeks.

Class fee is $150 plus supplies.

This class is an opportunity to learn and utilize all styles of stained glass construction. This project will be a study in plotting out a beveled glass center panel with a foiled background, a beveled and leaded glass border with a zinc frame. We will continue to work on improved glass cutting techniques and short-cuts, and better soldering on all applications! This is a great chance to bring yourself up to date with today’s procedures.

Beautiful Beveled Boxes

The course is 4 weeks.

Class fee is $95.00 plus tools and supplies.

What a perfect gift! These boxes are a truly elegant presentation for a wedding, anniversary or any really special occasion. Made of classic beveled glass and mirror, these boxes will reflect the good taste of the giver as well as the recipient! Making this box entails planning for bevels, perfecting three dimensional building skills and fine soldering techniques. Scaling and designing the lid to fit the box is an important part of your education as well as how to apply hinges, chain, feet and any other embellishments.

Boxes are a wonderful way to enjoy your hobby without a lot of expense, something that everyone, despite age or gender can appreciate, and you don’t even need a window to hang it in! These boxes are great for trinkets, precious keepsakes or dried flowers. They are also great as donation projects for fund raisers!

The course is 3 hours of studio instruction. Class fee is $200
which includes all your personal tools and supplies

Beginner Fused Glass

The course is 4 weeks. Class fee is $125 plus supplies.

Bead Brain Intermediate Workshops

The course is 3 hours of studio instruction. Class fee is $50 plus supplies.

Introduction to Stained Glass with Copper Foil

Class Projects: Two Stained Glass Tiffany Style panels
This is a great class to "get your feet wet"  We supply all the tools while you're working in class, and you have all the fun!
During this class we will complete two Copper Foiled projects and you will learn all about:

  • Glass cutting safely
  • Grinding
  • Foiling
  • Soldering
  • Finishing techniques
